
About the Role
Altar Group is a growing architecture + civil engineering firm focused on commercial and industrial site development across the Houston area and surrounding communities. As a smaller, collaborative team, we offer real ownership of projects, direct impact, and the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from concept through construction; so, you can build, lead, and see your work come to life.
We’re looking for a Texas-licensed Civil Engineer (PE) with a strong background in land development and site design who enjoys both the technical side of engineering and taking ownership of their work. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, works well autonomously, and enjoys leading projects from start to finish.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Lead civil design for commercial and industrial site development projects
Take projects from early concept through permitting and construction
Design grading, drainage, detention, utilities, and site layouts
Collaborate closely with our in-house architectural team for fully integrated design
Coordinate with municipalities and navigate permitting processes
Provide guidance and mentorship to EITs and junior staff
Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, constructability, and design quality
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required, (Additional licenses in Oklahoma and Louisiana, a plus)
5 + years of land development/site design experience
Strong experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility systems design
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to work independently, work autonomously, and take initiative
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Job Type:
Full-time: Hybrid after in-office training
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 (based on experience)
